Specimen Type/Requirements
CSF tube - CSF (2 separate aliquots)
Sterile Container - CSF (2 separate aliquots)
The aliquot for the glucose and protein needs to be centrifuged and removed from cells within 1 hour of collection. If only one specimen is received, the cell count and differential needs to be performed before centifugation for the glucose and protein.
Test is affected by hemolysis. Test is not affected by lipemia.
