Specimen Type/Requirements

Sterile Container - Body Fluid (specimens collected on site at SMC may be submitted in a sterile
container)

Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Body Fluid

Note: Specimens referred to the performing lab should be transferred to a small sealed container to minimize exposure to air. Transfer container must be at least half full of specimen to minimize exposure to air.  Use smallest transfer container available.

Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
