Useful For
Aids in determination of lymphomas, leukemias and myeloma.
Specimen Type/Requirements
Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Whole Blood
Green top (Sodium Heparin w/out gel) tube - Bone Marrow Aspirate
Lithium Heparin is not acceptable.
Perform WBC within 6 hours of drawing the specimen and send the results with the samples.
Freshly prepared blood smear (stained or unstained) is also recommended.
Provide reason for test and include patient history.

Test is affected by gross hemolysis.
