Specimen Type/Requirements
Gold or Red top (Serum w/gel or w/out gel) tube - Serum
or
Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma
and
24 Hour Urine Container - Urine, aliquot from a well mixed and measured 24 Hour Urine
Refrigerate during collection, no preservative, record total volume, mix well before aliquoting. If more than on urine container is collected, use proportional quantities from each well mixed container for the aliquot.
Include patient's height, weight and 24 hour urine total volume on specimen and order.
Note: Blood specimen may be drawn up to 24 hours before the start or up to 24 hours after the completion of the 24 hour urine collection.

Test may be affected by gross hemolysis, gross icterus and gross lipemia.
