Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Fasting is preferred. Plasma is not acceptable. Serum should be removed from cells within 4 hours of collection.
Test is affected by hemolysis. Test is not affected by lipemia.

If protein spike is present, the test will automatically reflex
to an Immunofixation at an additional charge.
