Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum

Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum

 

Fasting is preferred.  Serum should be removed from clot within 4 hours of collection.  

Plasma is not acceptable.

 

Test is affected by hemolysis and lipemia.
