Test ID BLOD1178 Immune Cell Function

Important Note

Time Sensitive test:  30 hour time requirement

Sample needs to be sent to the performing lab the same day collected.

Send to be received at Sanford Labs by Noon, Monday through Friday.

The Immune Cell Function Assay will not be performed (set up) on a holiday. Samples should not be collected the day before the holiday.

Sioux Falls region: Contact Sanford Lab Client Support to make arrangements for collection of the sample.

 

Specimen Type/Requirements

Dark Green top (Sodium heparin w/out gel) tube -  Whole blood

 

Collect and ship in original sodium heparin (green top) tube.

 

Test is affected by hemolysis.  Test is not affected by lipemia. 

 

Causes for rejection:

Whole blood frozen, refrigerated, clotted or received in transfer tube. Specimen will be rejected if greater than 30 hours old. Specimen type other than heparinized whole blood collected in sodium heparin tube. Do not use lithium heparin, ACD, Gel, or EDTA tubes.
