Pink top (EDTA) tube - Whole Blood (preferred)
Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Whole Blood (2 tubes)
For obstetric patients, draw specimen before the administration of Rh Immune Globulin. During extremely cold or hot weather, separate plasma from cells and send both specimens.

Test is affected by hemolysis. Test is not affected by lipemia.
