Specimen Type/Requirements
Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/out gel) tube - Whole Blood
Dark Green top (Sodium Heparin w/out gel) tube - Whole Blood
Do not use gel barrier/separator green top tubes.
Whole blood must be sent to lab on wet ice and tested within 4 hours of collection.
Fill tube completely. Specimen may be collected in a blood gas syringe.
This test is not recommended as a send in test due to short stability.
Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
