Test is affected by gross hemolysis.  Test is not affected by lipemia.

Additional Information

Some segments of the population who contract Infectious Mononucleosis do not produce measurable levels of heterophile antibodies.  Approximately 50% of children under four years old who have Infectious Mononucleosis may test negative.
