Specimen Type/Requirements
Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Plasma
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube -Serum
Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma
Specimen must be spun and separated from cells within 4 hours of collection.
Draw peak level 1-2 hours after a 30-60 minute IV infusion.
Test is affected by gross hemolysis and gross lipemia.
