Specimen Type/Requirements

Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma (preferred)

Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum 

Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum

 

Specimen should be centrifuged and separated within 2 hours of collection.

 

Draw post-dose 30 minutes after completion of IV infusion or 60 min after an IM dose.

 

Test may be affected by gross hemolysis, gross icterus and gross lipemia.

At the time of testing, thaw the frozen specimens and test them immediately.
