Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma (preferred)
Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Draw 1 - 2 hours after dose for intermittent release.
Draw 5 - 9 hours after dose for sustained release.
Trough levels should be drawn 30 minutes prior to next scheduled dose.
Specimen should be centrifuged and separated within 2 hours of collection.
Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
Bismarck
Test may be affected by gross hemolysis, gross icterus and gross lipemia.
