Specimen Type/Requirements
Blue top (Sodium Citrate) tube – platelet-poor plasma
Separate sample into 3 aliquots with 1.0 mL of platelet poor plasma in each aliquot.
Pediatric minimum: Separate sample into 2 aliquots with 1.0 mL of platelet poor plasma in each aliquot.
Test is affected by hemolysis and lipemia.
