Specimen Type/Requirements
Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum (preferred)
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum (preferred)
Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma
Separate from cells as soon as possible.
If not received into the testing lab within 3 days, the sample should be sent frozen.
Test is affected by gross hemolysis. Test is not affected by lipemia.
